New GRE 2011 – Books

Students planning to take GRE to apply for Spring 2012 or Fall 2012 are starting to wonder if they have to take GRE exam in current  or new revised GRE format. I got the following question from a reader

 I’m planning to Revised GRE exam in October 2011, but I want to decide based on the new exam format questions. Is there any GRE Exam books for revised GRE format from 2011?

Test Prep companies are slowly coming out with GRE Test prep books for new pattern. So far 3 books have been published and In stock.

   1. Official Guide to GRE revised General Test [Must Have]
   2. Kaplan GRE Exam 2010-2011 Premier with CD-ROM
   3. Kaplan GRE 2011: Strategies, Practice, and Review
   4. Cracking the GRE, 2011 Edition (Graduate School Test Preparation)

Barron’s and Nova Press are yet to announce new books. But, Kaplan, Princeton and Mac-Graw Hill have announced 13 New GRE 2011 Books that are under works for New GRE Exam that will be offered by ETS starting August 1 , 2011

Number of students taking New GRE in first few months from Aug 1, 2011 be less (or reluctant).  If you decide to take Revised GRE format, I would suggest to wait for few additional months after August 2011. So you will get to read and learn from experience of test takers.
